Read What The Man Has To Say After The Game

November 10th 2002 Ravens 38 Bengals 27

Well another big day for the Ravens. Despite the fact that we were playing the
Bengals the team played great and they had some really big plays. The day started plainly enough for me.
I stopped by the WQSR RV for my usual game day interview where I touted the
Terps big win Saturday and gave my score prediction of which I was only off by a hair.
I said it would be Ravens 21 Bengals 3. Like I said, it was close. I have never claimed to be a
handicapper although I did call the Bronco game, but it's always good for a laugh.
When I first started to sell it started to rain, the rain can ruin a game for all of us in a hurry.
So I ran out and bought one of those Ravens ponchos for $7.00 and of
course as luck would have it the rain stopped. I guess I'll have it for next time.
I have had a small problem over the past few games that for some reason I have failed to
address but came front and center at yesterday's game. They make us sell one load of a
"Bonus product" usually peanuts or soda to help them move more product and too
give the fans in each section something else to chose from seeing that almost all of us are selling beer.
So my bonus product was soda. I wear my beer button on one side and the soda button on the other.
In the past this has caused some confusion where someone who ordered a beer
would pass me $4.00 where I would tell them it was $6.50. This is usually no big thing. So this dude in
109 orders two beers and said keep a dollar. So I sent down two beers and $6.00.
He was all the way at the end of the isle and he was yelling something about the change.
So I sent he dollar down the isle thinking he did not mean to give me a tip.
No big, the rest of you guys take care of me good enough.

So I thought I had it worked out so I split. When I was in my room getting more beer one of my
buddies told me the guy was complaining to an usher that I had ripped him off. I told him
I would check it out. So when I was at the top of that isle I met up with the guy
and he said the beers were $4.00 where was his change? I explained that the sodas were $4.00 but the beers
were $6.50 he seemed to understand. So later I headed down to the bottom of that same isle and working my way
up the guy sitting next to him ordered a beer so I sent one down and he sent me $4.00, an obvious slap in the face.
I yelled that the beers were $6.50 and he said your button says $4.00
and he sent the beer back. I few people said later tell that,

"there is one in every crowd" but it still sucks whenever I have an issue
with any of my fans or in this case would be fans.

I really don't care to sell these bonus products but we have to, to stay competitive.
I have been in the top ten vendors in terms of sales since the Ravens came to Baltimore.
And even though I ended last year at #5, it has been a different story this year getting much more competitive.
My rankings this year have been as follows, 7, 12, 22, 12, and 7. So I am heading back in the right direction
but it has been tough. Being in the top ten means a lot to me and we have an awards ceremony
every year and we get a plaque for our accomplishments. The Camden yard vendors
are nationally known as some of the best vendors in the country and I take pride as a member of this fraternity.
So I guess I can move both buttons to one side or something to try to alleviate this problem but I'll work it out.
I brought my Bob Ehrlich shirt to see if I could get a rise out of any of you in the fourth quarter and boy did it work.
I think sections 106-108 gave me the loudest ovations as I pointed to my Ehrlch shirt and did a little dance.
I can't tell you how much I enjoyed working for Bob's campaign the last two days of the election.
I even became an electioneer for a day, hanging out at my polling station and passing
out brochures and yelling "Vote for Bob". It was too cool!!
So as it goes I had another great day at Ravens stadium. I had an opportunity to meet, greet,
and serve my adopted family while watching one of the greatest Pro Football Franchises ever.
I have no doubt that before too long we will back on top with Billick at the helm.
Next home stop Tennessee

PS: Say a prayer for my grandmother Dee. She has a brain tumor and it doesn't look good
but miracles can happen!!! So your thoughts and prayers would be appreciated.
