In The Stands Volume 14
The Greatest Game Ever

DO YOU BELIEVE IN DESTINY?? Never in my life have I seen two games where
only destiny could explain the outcome. Let's take a step back to Saturday.
I wasn't feeling very well. I had a few too many Friday night but
I didn't want to let my buddy Bob
down so I went to Jillian's at Arundel Mills to watch the Maryland-NC State game.
It was a unique experience for me I sat and watched my Bob
get hammered while I only drank soda.

To make a long story short the Terps came back down 14 in the fourth quarter only to
miss the extra point that would have tied the game. So with 2 minutes left Leroy Ambush
launched an ambush spearing the NC State runner into fumbling the ball away and yes the
Terps turned it into a game winning field goal winning 26-24 securing a Gator Bowl bid.
Sunday, the Ravens down 17 with 7 minutes to go score two
touchdowns and get the break of the year
when the ref's give them an extra timeout and an opportunity to tie the game with a
Matt Stover field goal and then win it in OT as Matt (Automatic) Stover
put it through the uprights again to win it.

The game started off plainly enough but when the Seahawks scored two touchdowns
within a minute at the end of the half you guys were DEAD!!! I actually had a spectacular start.
Since I started selling these 20 oz Miller Lites I have been on a roll!!
So I had sold eight cases by half time but I only sold three more by the end of the third.
I always sell at least 4-5 cases in the third quarter especially at last call but you guys were lifeless.
I tried to pick you up but nothing. So the third quarter ended and I sold like two bags of
peanuts in the fourth quarter and I was done for the day.

So I went to the vending room to cash out
and as fans started to tear out of the joint one of my friends asked me if the game was over.
I said "well we're down by 17 and time is short so yes the game is over". Shame on me!!!
Although it seemed out of range I still managed to get back to the game with 3 minutes left.
So I ran down between sections 105 and 107 and jumped right in the middle of a love fest.
When we scored that touchdown with a minute and a half to go we went wild.

We were all hugging and kissing and high fiving and low fiving and it was just too much.
Could this be for real?? Could it really happen??? When the Ravens held them twice on third
and fourth down and then the clock stopped for unknown reasons destiny was almost complete.
When we kicked the field goal to tie and then win in OT the crowd that stayed the
course got there desert with the win.

That terrible feeling in all our stomachs in the third quarter
had disappeared and reappeared as excitement and joy with an unbelievable comeback.
What a day to remember. I also ended up having a great day for the team as I tied one of the top three
vendors in the stadium so I will definitely be back in the top ten after dropping to 18 the last game.
So all is well in Ravens land we're still on top after a spectacular game so bring on the 49'ers.
