Read What The Man Has To Say After The Game

Volume 10

I have been really looking forward to this game for a number of reasons.
We have an excellent shot at the playoffs and I have an excellent shot at the top spot myself.
Seeing that this was the last game, I also wanted to make a good showing on the air with
Steve Rouse and Tom Davis on WQSR. I have found that if I prepare just a little before
any interview that I do much better than trying to come up with stuff to say off the cuff.
For the second week in a row I got to go inside the QSR RV for a quick chat with Steve and his gang.
I have really enjoyed the interviews and I have been really surprised at the number of people
listening in my section alone. So, with my interview done it was time to check in and take a
final look at the numbers after 9 games. I was feeling pretty good after seeing the game 8 results.
I had a 26 beer lead over Tim Koerner for the Top Spot for Miller Lite Sales in the entire Stadium. Too Cool!!!!!
Well,, today the news was not so good. My lead had evaporated and was now a 12 beer deficit. I was not feeling good.
Tim is a very good vendor and has been for a number of years.
I had the lead all year and now I had to make up ground but I pumped and up to the task.
I started out as usual except I really sold a lot of sodas early.
This was great because all we have to sell is one load of bonus product for the day to get a 2% bonus.
By kickoff I only had two sodas left and I wasn't getting any more. I have been working out since
July but for some reason I just did not feel like working out before this game.
So I was a little worried about my conditioning for the game. Almost anyone can pickup two cases of
16oz Miller Lite Beers but to carry them around while yelling BEERMAN and navigating the isles is another thing.
The first or second run is usually no big deal. You begin to feel it on the third run.
I was pretty pumped up and I felt great. They felt like a box of feathers (not really) but close.
Bonus for Beer is 12 cases. Add two percent to the bottom line and it looks pretty sweet at the end of the day.
I have made bonus on Beer twice year and I was thinking that might be what it takes to beat
Tim for the Title Ravens Stadium Top Miller Lite Dude!!!!!!! Well things were going well,
I was feeling strong and I had a shot at the title. Between sections 107 and 109
I was getting quite a few calls for Who's the Man?? I didn't miss one!!!
The other thing that kept me going was the Yule Tide Spirit. I was trying to wish everyone a
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and you did the same. Very Cool!!!
Things were going really well in the third quarter when Last Call snuck up on me.
I thought I had more time when I looked up and there were only 7 minutes left in the third quarter
and only 7 minutes left in my season. Now that I think about it I guess I forgot to call last call for the
year 2002 a Jimmy the Man Tradition. I guess I was in the zone. Well a few blinks later it was over.
10 games of blood, sweat, and tears, for the players and 10 games of Money, Sweat, and Beers, for me.
I really enjoyed this season. I think the website was a really good idea and it has brought me
closer to many of you while introducing me to many of you also. I get a real kick when someon
I really can't remember acts like they have known me for years. Too Cool!!!
So I was going to check out after the game but their was only one person ahead of me in line so
I checked out, tipped out, (we can't forget vending support they keep us going) and headed
out for a victory lap. I wanted to shake a few hands and say farewell to a great season and
a bunch of great of Fans. Thanks to all of my Fans New and Old. It was a great year and
I couldn't have done it with out you. Oh but wait!!! ONE MORE THING!!!
As I was heading out of the Stadium I ran into Tim and I grabbed him and started shaking him.
What's the Scoop?? How many did you sell?? He only did 10 cases. I did 11 plus 3.
I was floored. I had beaten him for the Season by 15 Beers!!! Therefore I hereby declare that
JIMMY THE MAN IS THE NUMBER ONE MILLER LITE MAN both in terms
of sales (number of beers SOLD) and course PERSONALITY for all of Art Donovan / Johnny Unitas / Ravens Stadium.
Truly Amazing!!!! Life is good!!! I have so much to be thankful for and one of them is you,
my fans, my people, and as long as I can get out their on a competitive basis I will be your Beerman!!!
So Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, I will see you next year. Only 200 days till training camp. Go Ravens!!!
Our Team has a lot of positives and I know for a fact we will be better next year.

WHO IS THE MAN ANYWAY??
