In the Stands 22
October 18, 2005
I have not written you for a while. I guess
now that I'm retired I'm just too dam lazy
but I will do my best to get you up to date.
Between the Orioles 3, Terps football 3,
my kids little league 5, and the Ravens 2,
I actually attended 13 games in September
so as a spectator I'm getting the hang of
it. I was sick for the Jets game so I had
to watch it at home, I felt sick about the
Lions game but didn't everyone. Anyway we
finally got to the Browns game and I went
with a Chamber buddy of mine Michael Zimmer.
He is an attorney and expects to be Governor
within the next decade or at least Commissioner
of Carol County. So Mike hooked us up with
a buddy of his Barry Brown (The guy in the
Blue Shirt next to me)

Barry is also an attorney. And to say he
had a great tailgate party is an understatement.
Game day he rents part of a parking lot just
off of Russell Street, hires a few guys to
cook and the serve the food and the rest
as they say is History. The grub included
Crab Cakes, Grilled Salmon, Grilled Shrimp,
and, and, Grilled Lobster, Too Cool!!! So
Mike invited me to the game and I didn't
want to disappoint. So now I had two tickets.
I wanted to bring the boy but I was afraid
I wouldn't be able to find an open seat close
enough to keep both of us happy. As you figured
there was one available. The seats with Mike
were top row in the Russell Street End Zone.
The view was great and everyone was really
cool. At times when the wind blew I was freezing!!!
We were pretty far up but the perspective
was unique. You could see the plays develop
even if the players did look like ants.
I don't know what to think about the Ravens.
They seem to have a Jekyll and Hyde mentality.
They looked really bad the week before and
pretty good this week but not great either.
I tell you who did look good and that's Chester
Taylor. Even from the top seat he looked
great. I hope Jamal makes a comeback but
Chester maybe our new top back. As is goes
Anthony Wright looked pretty good. We all
hope Kyle gets healthy but I don't know if
I could put him back at #1. We may need to
get back to Smash Mouth Football especially
since we have two #1 backs.
I never did make it down to Section 103 where
my main seat is. I was just too comfortable,
but as Arnie once said "I'll be back"
for the Bengal's game. I would love to see
you game day so give me a call 301 748 5484
I'll be partying somewhere within walking
distance of the stadium!!
So everything is going well. I'm missing
it a little but I'm doing pretty well. My
next article might be about going from Soccer
dad to Baseball Dad. James (Jimmy the Kid)
is only 5 and although he struggled to start
the season he was 2 for 3 Saturday. So he
is coming on. Emily was 2 for 4 and she has
been doing very well. But I'm the one that
is struggling, with the coach and the fact
that I'm not the coach but that will come
soon enough I guess!!! Go Raven's
SEE Ya NEXT GAME!!!
