In the Stands Volume 19

It's Stupendous It's Amazing It's Unbelievable. I don't know why I am always so anxious on game day but today was no different. I was so anxious that I left the office at 2:00pm to go to the game. Yes a full seven hours before kickoff. I usually have to show up at least 4 ½ hours before kickoff to get my spot near the stadium. Well today wasn't much different. I showed up at 2:50 pm and by 3:50 pm there was nothing left. So I turned on the radio opened the paper and just tried to relax. Around 3:00pm or so I heard Mickey and Amelia on 98 Rock and they were broadcasting from the Staples lot across the street from the stadium. So I started to formulate my plan to not only get back on WQSR but maybe get on 98 Rock too. Before today I had managed only one appearance on the Steve Rouse pre game show out of three when I hadn't missed one the previous two years. So I figured that if I showed up at the WQSR RV as they went on the air maybe just maybe they would fit me in. So I showed up around 5:50 and as soon as I got there Steve said "Stick around Jimmy". He then told me under there new format they get four chances within an hour and a half to talk and get interviews etc. So sure enough within a half an hour he said "get ready". So I asked this guy who was hanging around to snap a few pictures of us while we were talking and they came out great. The interview was short but sweet as usual. Steve makes it very easy asking questions etc and he has a knack for funny remarks. So that went very well. Too Cool!!!!! So after that was over I walked across the street to the staples lot and it was pretty wild. The music was blaring; there was this chick from the Gold Club (an almost strip club) on the back of a pick up truck and she was gyrating around and even though there wasn't that much showing it was pretty out of hand. So I did get to meet Mickey and Amelia for the first time and they were very cool but while I may have been able to get on the air with them if I had more time but I didn't so I split.

Call in was at 7:00pm and by 7:45pm I was standing there with a case of beer and a few bags of peanuts at Gate A waiting for you all to show up. Hurry up already!!!!!
It took me an hour to sell one case but I managed to sell two more by Kickoff which is very cool!!!! So it's now about 9:05pm and I'm standing outside section 107 on the concourse trying to decide when to make my entrance, I see quit a few of you outside of the bowl before kickoff but when I enter the bowl the fun begins. I ran to the bottom of the isle between 105 and 107 and sold a bunch of beers then when I got to the top I sold 12 in one shot. Too Cool!!! It was beginning to look like a great day and it was. I ran over to go down between 107 and 109 when I was stopped by one of my new fans who said they heard me on the radio. He was even bragging to a few other people of how he had heard me!!!! I was getting pumped. So as I worked my way up the isle another one of my new fans walked up and asked if I was Jimmy. I said yea (I didn't have the heart to tell her actually it's Jimmy The Man) I mean who do I think I am anyway??? She said she heard me on the radio too!! So I said for being so attentive smile for the camera. I have the best looking fans don't I???? I really can't believe the number of you who said you heard me. So I had to ask you how I sounded and everyone said great. I have actually been practicing running my mouth on the air for a while now and who knows what the future will bring.

You know I really have a blast interacting with all of you but it is really weird how I manage to have a good time, even take a few pictures, while busting my butt to stay competitive within the Vending realm. It really is quit a workout and if I hadn't been working out so much recently I know that I couldn't do half as well. The marathon starts when I grab two Miller Lite 20 oz cases weighing roughly 60 pounds and along with a half dozen bags of peanuts make my way into the seating bowl. This small trip roughly 35 yards is really the hardest part of my day. I then have to remember where I last left off get up that isle sell a few and make my way to the next one. I work in a circle so I can try to catch you when you just start getting thirsty again. Most of the time my timing is good. In between all of this I have to navigate the isles, make change, and mange to at least act like I'm not too tired. I can't tell how sore I am right now much less how sore I will be in the morning when the Motrin wears off. I hurt my shoulder in the second pre-season game just doing my thing. My Doctor says I have a partial rotator cuff injury and the Grapevine told me to bulk up on Motrin at least a day or two before each game and game day too. But even with a bad shoulder I felt great today. It's exhilarating to do this job. It's way physical. It's a sales job and it's a PR job all in one. Sure the money is great but the main reason I do this is the rush I get from the workout and the high I get from the friendship. Every game I meet new friends I never new I had and whether you're new or old or whatever it feels good to be loved and that's what I feel from you so Thanks!!!!!!!!! I know we lost a close one but just being able to be there was the best for me!!!!!!

See Ya Next Game!!!
